Biden's "Ghost Gun" Regulation Reinstated Following Another Supreme Court Intervention

The US Supreme Court has once more intervened, permitting the Biden administration to persist in its regulation of what are termed "ghost guns." This move temporarily reverses decisions from lower courts that the government believes undermine the Supreme Court's jurisdiction.

Earlier, on Aug. 8, the Supreme Court allowed the Biden administration's guidelines regarding ghost guns to stay active as the legal battle continues. Numerous manufacturers and distributors have contended that the administration went beyond its bounds in regulating these self-assembled firearms.

Subsequent to this directive, a pair of manufacturers renewed their quest for an injunction against the government's enforcement of these limitations. Their appeal was granted by a federal district court in Texas, a decision that the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit chose to uphold.

In its appeal, the government emphasized, "This particular case is unique as the Court has previously determined, in this exact scenario, that emergency intervention by the government is warranted. It's essential that the Court's directives are not sidestepped."

Justice Samuel Alito, who oversees emergency petitions from the Fifth Circuit, provided a provisional directive last Friday. He has called for a rebuttal from the opposing parties by Oct. 11, and a subsequent directive is anticipated.

These so-called "ghost guns" are assembled using kits that consumers can purchase either in physical stores or online. They frequently don't possess serial numbers, making tracking their ownership challenging.

The legal battle is identified as Garland v. Blackhawk Manufacturing Group, U.S., with the case number being No. 23A302.

  1. So called "ghost guns", by a vast majority, are common ordinary Guns that have simply had the Serial Number Ground off. That's already against the law. So this alleged 'ghost gun" law does nothing other than disarm Law Abiding citizens and hobbyists. Fascism at it finest.
