A Delaware judge has instructed Hunter Biden to provide an update by September 6 regarding his pending felony gun charges. Despite the legal team of President Joe Biden's son asserting that a 'diversion agreement' protects him from prosecution, the case continues. Meanwhile, efforts to gain information through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) have hit a wall, leading to questions about the extent of executive authority in denying Second Amendment rights.

Erich Pratt, the Senior Vice President of Gun Owners of America, has officially questioned the authority of the Executive branch in creating new limitations beyond those set by Congressional law, via a letter sent to Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray in September 2022.

The lack of logical coherence in the government's actions is not the only point of concern. Additional issues extend to finances, bribery, and the questionable appointment of David Weiss as 'special counsel.' As of now, it seems that the House Oversight Committee has little inclination to thoroughly investigate the case or to compel sworn testimony.

Also, the presence of Secret Service agents at an earlier incident involving Hunter Biden’s gun disposal in a public trash receptacle raises further questions. Despite credible reports, the Secret Service denies any involvement, complicating the quest for truth in this situation.

Moreover, the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has repeatedly declined another FOIA request, citing Hunter Biden's 'privacy interests.' This has left the case in limbo, without any clear timeline for resolution.

While the administration touts its commitment to 'truth and transparency,' these instances suggest otherwise. It also raises questions about the genuine commitment of President Joe Biden to the idea of 'universal background checks,' particularly when there appears to be disparate treatment for his own family.
